In Truskavets, training was organized for internally displaced children and adults about the importance of waste sorting

On August 30, 2023, in the city of Truskavets, the “Center LTD” company together with the “ECO
Cluster” Association, the “International Fund for Health and Environmental Protection” “Carpathian
Region” as part of the project “Protection of Internally Displaced Persons in Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi,
Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Region” organized another training on how to properly sort waste. This
was said by Oleg Bota, Director of the Center LTD. The event was attended by more than 40
children and adults.

“This is our second event where we would like to once again draw attention to the issues of
formation of a high ecological culture of waste management. From an early age the younger
generation should be aware of their responsibility for careful and rational treatment of natural
resources, their effective use and environmental protection,” Oleg Bota says.

During the event, the participants were told about the importance of waste sorting, got acquainted to
containers for separate sorting and convinced of the importance of following the rules of sorting,
because it will help preserve the environment and support the economy of our state. The participants
were also shown practical examples of how to make tiles from worn tires and buses, which can be
used in the economy of towns and villages, or how to make soap dishes and bathroom dispensers
from sorted glass. The youngest participants received a book from the series “Lifeguard stickers, we
care about the environment.”

“The same training is planned to be held in Novyj Rozdil. We are aware of the importance of
creating an ecological culture based on continuous environmental education and an ecological way
of thinking. This culture implies not only an understanding of the importance of nature protection,
but also the active participation of each individual in the conservation of natural resources and the
impact on the environment,” says the executive director of the ECO Cluster Association, Olena
Vitrak.
